Our Name
Free Grace Church is an independent assembly of believers. We are not affiliated with any denomination – or even loosely attached to any larger group of churches. We are not associated with the free grace (or any other particular) movement. We firmly believe in the local assembly being autonomous in its leadership and structure, while having genuine fellowship with other local assemblies.
We settled on the name of 'Free Grace' as we found ourselves especially drawn to the precious truth of God's redeeming grace being sovereignly bestowed upon undeserving sinners, apart from any merit of our own whatsoever. This precious truth is uniquely emphasized in
Ephesians 1:5-7:

“He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace,” |
In emphasizing the fact that God's grace is freely bestowed upon sinners, we are in no way
advocating for an impotent, or cheap grace that is free from genuine and practical effects. God's grace
is free from the standpoint of His bestowing it upon undeserving sinners – it is not free from personal
responsibility on the part of those upon whom it is bestowed. The freely bestowed favor of God lays a
Divine claim upon its recipients – in properly responding to so great a gift from so great a God.
It has been our desire – that through the name 'Free Grace' we would be continually reminded of
the ultimate priority in God's great redemptive purpose of saving sinners like us -
