Who We Are

We are in full agreement with the Biblical view that the church consists of helpless sinners who have been called by the matchless grace of God to be saints in the Lord Jesus Christ. We came - through a process of studying and taking God at His word - to a like-minded conviction that we needed to be part of a local assembly of believers who would try to be structured as closely as we could to the New Testament pattern (click on the following links to learn more):

Cross Against a Sunset

Therefore, we began to worship together on Sunday, July 16, 1995 in a tin shed several miles outside the town of Washington, IL. In the summer of 2002 we began to pray that God would provide a place for us to meet with a little more room, and better public access. In August of that year, the Lord very graciously provided a piece of property, with building, that was transferred to us at no cost, by a group of believers who no longer needed it. On Sunday, September 8, 2002 we began to meet at our present location.
