There is a God. There is one God. God is not a concept conceived by men. He is not a vague and unknowable higher power or life force that is impersonal or amoral, God is the sovereign creator of everything that exists. He has created man in His own image. God has revealed Himself to us in creation itself, and, more importantly, in His written Word through human writers moved by the Holy Spirit in the words they recorded, so that they spoke from God.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:1
And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Genesis 1:27
because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
Romans 1:19-20
But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
